“Dementia Diaries is a UK-wide project that brings together people’s diverse experiences of living with dementia as a series of audio diaries. It serves as a public record and a personal archive that documents the day-to-day lives of people living with dementia, with the aim of prompting a richer dialogue about the varied forms of the condition.”
Each diarist is given a 3D printed mobile handset which are simple to use and enables individuals to continue to record entries even as the use of technology becomes more difficult as their disease progresses.
Dementia Diaries is a part of the Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project (DEEP) and an initiative of On Our Radar, a non-profit communications agency that enables marginalized groups to share their news and perspectives.
