Respondus Now in Neil John Maclean Health Sciences Library Computer Labs

Respondus, the “LockDown” browser software for exam writing has been installed in the Ross and Paterson computer labs in the Neil John Maclean Health Sciences Library.

Respondus is a browser that will only launch the UM Learn platform and prevent users from using other Internet browsers when in they are in that browser. This enables instructors who use UM Learn for their tests and exams to prevent students from searching the Internet for answers during the exam.

Instructors who would like to use this browser software must select the Respondus option when creating the test or exam, otherwise students can use any browser to access UM Learn which will allow them unrestricted access to the Internet.

For more information about Respondus contact Hal Loewen (hal.loewen@umanitoba.ca or 204-789-3465) at the NJM Library.respondus
