As part of the new SoCRA (Society of Clinical Research Associates) for Clinical Research Excellence series (previously the CRINGe Speaker Series), two of our librarians will be teaching a session on predatory publishing, Understanding and Avoiding Predatory Publishing.
This session will examine what exactly a predatory publisher is in the academic world, why they exist, why they should be avoided, and provide some strategies for evaluating publishers. Predatory publishers will be contrasted to publishers using the open access model to facilitate access to scientific research and scholarly communication.
Date and Time: March 20, 2018, 12pm-1pm
Where: Apotex Centre (Room 164) 750 McDermot Avenue Winnipeg Manitoba R3E 0T5
